TRAGOPAN - CamShield - Protection for CANON 500mm F / 4 L IS II USM lens:

This telephoto protection kit consists of:

- silicone rings which cover the various controls and the tripod clamp.

- silicone caps that cover the tightening knobs of the sun visor and the tripod clamp

- a thermoformed EVA foam element that covers the main body of the telephoto lens with access to the focusing ring via two openings that open and close with a snap

- a thermoformed EVA foam element that protects the sun visor

- a one-piece thermoformed EVA foam lens cover with a strap and clasp to hold it in place on the lens hood

The CAMSHIELD protection kit offers shockproof protection thanks to the shock absorption capacity of its thick EVA foam. The water-repellent treatment protects the lens from occasional water-related risks such as snow, morning dew, a little drizzle ...

Particular attention has been paid to ensuring that no part of the telephoto lens is left bare, visible, thus preventing paint wear and thus keeping the telephoto lens in optimum condition for possible second-hand resale without depreciation. The number of components in the kit has been reduced to a minimum to limit the risk of dust or water entering the interstices of the telephoto lens, especially the focus ring. The rigidity of the EVA foam gives it a perfect fit on the lens and does not warp over time compared to neoprene.

The silicone parts make it possible to operate, through it, all the different telephoto controls such as autofocus mode, stabilization, focusing distance ranges ... and this, even with gloves.

Access to the focus ring is through two openings in the main body which are covered by two covers attached by snap fasteners. A press stud located on the outer part of one of these covers keeps them in the open position, pressed against the telephoto lens (see photo).

The lens cover is retained on the front of the lens hood via a strap and a clasp in the closed position, this also allows it to be held on the bottom of the lens hood in the open position, or on the middle of the main body for use it as a ground-level shooting support.

    Materials: rings and caps for silicone dial / main body, lens hood and lens cover in poly-cotton laminated to 4mm thermoformed EVA foam. Poly-cotton has a water repellent treatment and UV protection.
