Descriptive :
JAMA - BIR3 Infrared barrier for CANON (RS-80N3) :
The new version of this barrier will allow IR to manage how "smart" camera and accompanying flash depending on what you want to do.
If you want to do shots of nocturnal mammals, the bats, sparrows in flight, or drops of water are very different settings. This barrier you have a IR function selector numbered from 1 to 9, which corresponds to a use.
The infrared receiver will handle the camera and flash smart way to make nocturnal mammals, bats, sparrows in flight, or water drops.
The infrared barrier is used with the BIR2 BIR3 barrier in either cross or parallel mode barrier. Bcroix mode will allow to be selective on a specific area of the beam. Parallel mode will increase the possibilities of shooting since only one of the two IR beams is cut to trigger the camera or flash.
Here is a description of the nine possible functions:
- Normal: Triggering the camera simple as BIR2.
- Top mirror: This function keeps the mirror up which gives a low response time. Ideal for shooting insects or sparrows in flight.
- Alarm flash: that is to say, the reactive flash every 90s to prevent the flash goes to sleep. This function is very useful for photos of owls.
- the flash dryer when the rupture of the beam and causes the 2.5s after shooting. This function is provided for photos of nocturnal mammals.
- Open the valve for a variable duration and fires the flash from the rupture of the beam and then closes the shutter and starts a new sequence. If the beam is not broken during a predefined time the shutter is closed and reopened later 2.5s.
This feature is ideal for photos of bats in flight.
- Open the shutter and fires the flash after a variable time and closes the shutter. This function is suitable for shooting water drops in studio.
- Same as mode 1 but with the possibility of a second parallel fence that can increase the chances of success and therefore trigger.
- Same as mode 2, but in parallel mode.
- Same as mode 5 but in parallel mode.
Modes 1-6 Bcroix manage which is incorporated into the BIR3.
In addition to these nine functions the receiver can be powered with 4 AA batteries or battery which gives more autonomy.
The outputs are 3.5 mm stereo jack to (and therefore different from the BIR2)
The transmitter has been optimized for minimum power consumption and works with a 9v battery or the optional Alim1 which allows to feed with 6 AA battery.
The IR transmitter and receiver set will be supplied with a remote cord dedicated to your camera. This cable has a length of 10 m without extension. If this seems too long or just too long we can make a cord to the length you want.
Optionally you can buy a cord to trigger your flash and an external power supply.
The new barrier will allow to significantly increase the success of your shots. It is the result of many years of experience of our workshop on the implementation of IR barrier. If you already have an IR barrier JAMA it useful to incorporate this new set.
