The Vanguard Alta Sky 68 is the ultimate transport and work backpack, offering rear access to a fully customizable interior.

The ALTA SKY 68 is a new style backpack for photographers who are planning a longer hike where they need their big telephoto lens to get up close to that elusive subject, but want the versatility to be able to switch lenses. lens to take advantage of photo opportunities as they come, whether it's a dramatic landscape or a stunning macro opportunity.

Until now, the choice has been to carry your telephoto lens and leave the rest of the kit at home (like in an Alta Sky 66), or take a larger bag that can hold the extra lenses, but that means the body needs to be detached from the telephoto lens and must then be installed in place.

The Alta Sky 68 gets around this problem with two separate sections in the main compartment.

Half of the main compartment is designed to accommodate a Pro DSLR or mirrorless body attached to a 600mm (f/4.0) lens, or even some 800mm (f/5.6) lenses. A thick, sturdy and well-padded adjustable cradle supports the camera body from below and holds the large lens in position, while ensuring it is well protected all around the delicate connection point.

The other half of the main compartment is designed to hold up to 7 additional lenses, or it can be customized to carry the personal kit you need for a longer hike.

A full-opening front flap provides easy access to the camera/telephoto lens and top half of the compartment with additional lenses, while the bottom half of each compartment is accessible from the rear. The rear access also includes a pocket for a 16" laptop.

The interior is a light, bright orange that lets you see the contents of the bag clearly, even in low light conditions. Or in an emergency while hiking, can help attract attention by making you more visible.

A full-size tripod can be carried centrally for optimal balance, using the tripod's leg pocket and adjustable straps to hold it firmly for maximum comfort when on the go. Alternatively, a tripod or monopod can be carried in the expandable side pocket, or it can be used to carry a water bottle.

Organize all other equipment and personal items such as a 16" laptop (the compartment measures 280 x 25 x 360 mm), an 11" tablet, memory cards, cables, batteries, a charger and a smartphone, exactly where you need it
