TELINGA - XLR Stereo Parabolic Microphone Kit:

The Telinga Modular kit is equipped with an Earsight XLR omnidirectional stereo microphone developed by Immersive SoundScapes specifically for the TELINGA parabolic dish and for JAMA.

The dish is 56cm in diameter and rollable.

This kit includes a handle with mounting hardware, a collapsible dish, an original Telinga Rycote basket, an original windscreen (currently supplied by Radius Windshields), and two interchangeable Telinga foam cartridges:

• Mono foam cartridge: compatible with most pencil, omnidirectional, or cardioid microphones, mounted facing the dish or facing forward (large omnidirectional microphones). It can also accommodate large microphones facing the dish without the front cap of the Telinga Rycote basket. This is an excellent option for wildlife researchers and birdwatchers using older cardioid microphones.

• Stereo Foam Cartridge: For PZM stereo setups (with your small omnidirectional microphones, lavalier mics, or electret capsules).

The new stereo foam cartridge is inspired by Telinga's traditional method for recording wildlife sounds, which involves placing a baffle plate near the front of the parabolic reflector. By separating the two sides, this system creates a stereo background, while the focal area affects both channels equally (mono). This concept is now integrated into the Telinga Rycote windscreen, allowing you to instantly change your setup as soon as new microphones or capsules are released! The stereo foam includes a pre-installed baffle plate and inserts easily, without tools or glue.

The capsules integrated in the foam cartridge are mounted on a support specially designed for the Telinga parabola and for JAMA. This support preserves the “focus” adjustment of the microphones as well as their axis (the parabola focuses sound waves to a precise point).
