At Zoom, we are constantly developing new ideas to improve the performance and functions of our Handy Recorders portable recorders. With the new H4n Pro, we've taken everything creators love in the H4n and pushed it to the next level.

INPUTS AND OUTPUTS:

The two twist-lock connectors accept balanced / unbalanced XLR or 1/4 "plug-in cables and can receive microphone and line level signals as well as instrument level signals. Phantom power of +24 or +48 volts can be supplied to both inputs. In addition, a 3.5mm stereo mini plug jack can accommodate external audio sources, including lapel microphones requiring a 2.5-volt power supply through the jack.

Exits

A stereo line / headphone output on a 3.5mm mini-jack with dedicated volume control allows headphone monitoring or connection to your digital camera, while the built-in monophonic speaker allows for quick verification. In addition, a USB port allows fast file transfer, firmware update and use as a 2-input / 2-output audio interface for computers.

SHAPE OF THE HOUSING:

The new ergonomic rubberized housing is perfect for use in the field or with a camera, while the new XLR connectors / TRS locking plugs ensure the proper hold of your microphone cables. Ultra-portable, the H4n Pro can accompany you everywhere for a convenient mobile recording.

3 RECORDING MODES:

STEREO mode uses built-in X / Y microphones (or external microphones) and is convenient for recording shows, acoustic instruments, dialogs and more.

In 4CH (4-channel) mode, you can record simultaneously with built-in X / Y microphones and two external inputs, which is perfect for both recording live room and console sound.

MTR (multitrack) mode turns your device into a four-track studio with built-in effects, overlay recording capabilities, and the ability to work with pre-recorded audio files.

RECORDING FUNCTIONS:

Pre-registration

The pre-recording function ensures that you never miss the beginning of an important take. The unit records constantly, always keeping the 2 seconds * of sound that precedes the time you press the record button.

* One second if you are recording in 4 channel mode at 96 kHz.

Automatic registration

Automatic recording starts when a user-defined sound level threshold is reached. There is also an automatic shutdown function, which terminates the recording as soon as the incoming signal is below the user-defined stop level.

INTEGRATED EFFECTS

The H4n Pro offers studio-quality effects and emulators to enhance your recordings. Choose from a variety of effects including compression, limiter, reverb, delay, echo, low cut filter and more.

A metronome and a tuner are integrated, as well as dozens of amp and effects models for guitar and bass. Plus, you can loop and independently adjust the tone of the sound and speed, making the H4n Pro a perfect tool for studying a passage.
