When used with an SLR or DSLR, the Traveler is ideal for 135mm lens, and can be used with lenses up to 200mm. Series 1 offers an excellent maximum load capacity with good torsional rigidity at a very low weight. A Series 1 tripod is the ideal solution for photographers on the move or where space and weight are key factors.

The Gitzo Ocean Traveler is not only the world's first stainless steel tripod, but also the world's first tripod specifically developed to challenge extreme climates and adverse elements.

The Gitzo Ocean Traveler's unique castings are made of uncoated stainless steel and manufactured with a unique process to guarantee high precision and ultra thin components.

The Stainless Steel Ocean Traveler includes a center ball head that can be easily disassembled in order to clean the inner parts from salt, dust and sand that may get trapped inside. A special surface treatment, normally used for surgery equipment, completely closes any porosity at microscopic level ensuring to eliminate any anchoring point for corroding agents.

Unique to the Ocean Traveler, Gitzo has enhanced its well-known G-Lock leg locking system to suit extreme environments. Called Ocean-Lock, the new locks include special inserts at both ends which minimize the amount of water and debris that may enter the tubes and mechanisms.
